Just 3 Steps to Make the Swan Fly

Every spring in Anchorage, Alaska, there’s chatter around town about swan sightings. The swans pass through the area on their way to nesting grounds above the Arctic Circle. For us to see them in Southcentral Alaska, we have to look quickly. The swans don’t stay around long.

Supply List:
  • half-sheet size of 140lb watercolor paper, 15″ x 22″

  • Foam core board and artist tape and paper towels

  • Hard Pencil: mechanical pencil or a regular pencil with “H” in the designation

  • Waterproof pen, black

  • Watercolor paints in these colors:

  • Ultramarine Blue

  • Yellow Ochre

  • Cadmium Red
